QUALITY CONTROL – ACCREDITATION
The purpose of Vioiatriki Lemesou is to provide medical laboratory services, including biochemical, immunological, haematological and microbiological examination of human specimens, interpretation of results and advice on the selection of appropriate tests, the required sample type (eg blood, urine, etc. ) and the repetition frequency of examinations.
Mission and policy of Vioiatriki Lemesou, is the provision of medical laboratory services with respect to our customers and with main priority the benefit of customers, expressed with confidentiality, providing high quality services without discrimination to all, with politness and fast service.
As part of this policy the laboratory implemented management systems aiming at providing reliable and quality acceptable test results and conducting activities and tests in a standardized, systematic, scientific and professional manner, ensuring the independence of judgment, impartiality, integrity , discretion and confidentiality.
In order to ensure the quality of service and validity of test results, the management of the workshop:
- Applies a management system which complies completely with the requirements of Accreditation (CYS) and the International Standard ISO / IEC 15189:2012.
- Serves its customers in a good professional practice and provides care and tests of high quality, which meet the requirements of customers.
- Encourages Human Resources of the laboratory to develop initiative and creativity, effective communication and cooperation and provides continuing education to broaden their knowledge and skills.
- Continuously implements policies and procedures and provide the laboratory staff all resources required for the implementation of this policy.
- Meets the requirements of regulatory authorities and organizations providing recognition.
- Ensures that all testing is being performed with documented methods that have proven reliable and scientifically acceptable, based on the latest scientific data. The laboratory carries out daily internal quality control systems and participates in external quality assurance (RIQAS, CBC).
- Has established arrangements that laboratory staff are not subject to any commercial, financial or other pressures which might affect the engineering judgment and results of operations.
- Requires the personnel involved in the activities of laboratory tests to be informed about the initiative to document and implement quality procedures and practices of the Management System in its daily work.
- Pursues management of hazardous liquids and solid wastes collected by a private company to treated to prevent environmental pollution.
- Is involved in monitoring and reporting of infectious diseases that are conducted by the Medical Services of the Cyprus Ministry of Health.
